[Linux-ham] convers node

The computer is a standard desktop PC running Xubuntu 13.10. It has a 
GUI because I was already doing my HF digital work there, so it is now 
my ham box.

The TNC is a KPC-3 connected via a PL2303 USB<->Serial adapter. Radio is 
a Kenwood TM-261A. Antenna is a Comet 2m/70cm magmount sitting on some 
metal at the base of the roofline.

The software is where it gets interesting. Instead of G8BPQ, I used the 
software built into the distro (ie: apt-get install ...). At some point 
I should probably write up a quick-start guide similar to what you've 
written for the BPQ/Pi setup.
