NC*SA Elections

In November, NC*SA elects its steering committee. If you'd like to be a
part of running of NC*SA, now is the time to think about putting yourself
up for election.  Or, if you know someone who you think would make a good
leader for NC*SA, please feel free to nominate them!

Steering committee members serve for 2 years, with 3 or 4 members rotating
out each year.  The steering committee elects a president, secretary,
treasurer and program coordinator, and maintains the website and mailing
lists. Most planning happens on the ncsa-steer mailing list with
occasional meetings at RTI just before the normal NC*SA meeting. The
amount of time required to be a steering committee member is low; most of
the work is finding people to talk at meetings and finding sponsors.

To volunteer to run for the NC*SA steering committee, please send an email
to ncsa-steer@ncsysadmin.org, by 10pm on November 10th, with your name and
a short bio (interests, profession, etc).  To nominate someone, please
send an email to ncsa-steer@ncsysadmin.org with their name and email
address / phone number so we can contact them to let them know they've
been nominated and ask if they're interested in standing for election.  
(If you're nominating someone, please let us know as soon as possible so
we have time to get in touch with them.)

Thanks for your participation!  With a strong steering committee, we can
continue to provide interesting, educational speakers (and free pizza!) to
our membership.
