If your interested in installing a pre-configured image of a windows
desktop there are many software packages to do that. Norton's Ghost,
Symantec's Drive Image and ImageCast to name a few. I am not aware of
anything that is open source for windows. However, I have never gone out
looking for any open source products for windows imaging.

I'm in exactly the same boat: plenty of great tools for the various UNIXes,
but not much at all for Windows. The problem is, loading a preconfigured
image on windows desktops from scratch.
Try this:
http://www.nilo.org/
It does, apparently, righteously rock.
I haven't done it yet, though. I just found the site this week and have
been
firefighting too much to try it out.
