There's been some discussion of this on the sage-members mailing list
recently.  You could join SAGE, read the archive of the discussion,
then decide.  ;)

Actually, some people have pointed out things such as finding the
primary value of USENIX to be the Login newsletter/magazine, and the
primary value of SAGE to be the sage-members mailing list.  There are
other benefits to each, as a few other people have mentioned there and
on this list.  Myself, I've stayed a member of SAGE, but allowed my
USENIX membership to lapse.  If your employer pays to send you to a
conference, you can roll the annual membership into the conference
fees, then it costs you nothing out of pocket.  If you're paying for
it yourself, you may be able to make it an itemized deduction on your
income taxes.
