googling finds that people have tried this with SCO from the 
era I'm interested in (5.0.4). In fact it's the first 
approach being taken to rescue old apps from dead machines. 
You need to install from scratch as the image converter 
doesn't work for the early SCO. Some people have got it to 
work and some people haven't. I haven't figured out the 
difference. There's the multiport serial card, which was the 
way they talked to the outside world back then (seems like 
something from the 1970's rather than 2000)  and people are 
trying to get them to work too. Haven't got far into it yet
