Tekelec is looking for an IT Systems Administrator; in this role the ideal
candidate would be the single point of contact for resolving technical problems
with Windows, Exchange, Active Directory and VMware servers.

Main Responsibilities:

Primary responsibility for the day to day administration and troubleshooting
activities of Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange 2007

Provide VMware design and architecture input as well as providing high level
support, as needed, in a production environment by troubleshooting issues,
proposing solutions and implementing fixes

Conduct end user training for existing/new system features and prepare
necessary end-user documentation or training materials

Analyze existing technology and make recommendations for the improvement and
growth. Work with IT management team to understand business requirements and
help them understand how technology tradeoffs influence strategy

Develop and maintain documentation of relevant system procedures and functions;
Ensure local business processes meet SOX criteria

Responsible for the Microsoft update release process and maintenance of the
WSUS system worldwide

Maintain Antivirus solution and properly escalate virus treats

Maintain and improve system availability of all email derived services,
adhering to policies and procedures

Manage the installation, configuration and administration of all email server
infrastructure that supports the business

Assess the impact of email system changes prior to their implementation,
minimizing downtime and working with globally dispersed colleagues where
appropriate

Coordinate backup and recovery procedures

Define, publish and operate standard procedures

Conduct capacity planning

Perform hardware and software troubleshooting as required

Participate in handling of Helpdesk tickets and on-call rotation.

Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for new
initiatives

Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, integration,
upgrade, and support/optimal operation of relevant technology such as Microsoft
Office Communicator

Manage projects as required; measure and report progress against key
deliverables and business objectives.

Develop training materials/strategies for IT Infrastructure and Support teams
as required

Summary of Qualifications:

7+ yrs of experience in complex international environments using Microsoft
Active Directory, Exchange 2007, VMware and backup administration. Candidate
with well-rounded knowledge in networking, windows administration is required.

B.S/B.A in Computer Science/MIS, related field or 8+ years relevant experience

4+ years experience in supporting UNIX and Windows DNS/DHCP environment

7+ years on complex Active Directory infrastructure, Exchange 2007 and
Microsoft core infrastructure technologies (AD, DNS/DHCP, DFS, Clustering,
Sharepoint, IIS, WSUS, Terminal Services, etc.).

IT related technical certifications, VCP3 or VCP4 and MCSE 2003/2008 certified,
certification in Exchange is a plus.

Understand DMZ environments, enterprise security and risk, hardware and
software configuration across a broad spectrum

Strong understanding of running secure networks, hardening servers,
implementing and monitoring performance measures

Strong interpersonal and communication skills; well developed customer service
abilities

Strong troubleshooting skills

Strong problem solving abilities

Capable of working in high pressure situations

Strong organization & time management skills
