[TriLUG] Help with AbiWord (weird install error)

In an effort to make the Linux box here at home as useful as possible to my
wife, I'm trying to keep an updated AbiWord installed. However, the 0.9
release is giving me fits, and it's not even a problem with trying to run
it...just build and install it!

Here's the problem:

[root at shabadoo jvmatthe]# rpm --rebuild /home/jvmatthe/abiword-0.9.0-1.src.rpm
      --- snip long compile ---
[root at shabadoo jvmatthe]# rpm -Uhv /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386/abiword-0.9.0-1.i38
6.rpm
Preparing... ########################################### [100%]
1:abiword error: unpacking of archive failed on file
/usr/bin/
abiword;3b76c60f: cpio: link failed - Invalid cross-device link

What you can't see is that the hashes on the line starting "1:abiword"
actually go almost all the way to 100% before this error pops up and seemingly
ruins the whole thing.

Anyone that can help me figure out what's wrong?

Here are my current versions of rpm and cpio:
rpm-4.0.3-0.88
cpio-2.4.2-20

Thanks in advance,
matt
