Yeah, that's pretty scary. FWIW, I just called the offices of both Senator
Helms and Senator Edwards, to express my opposition to this stuff. Note:
by "this stuff" I mean ANY law that would concede our freedoms or civil
liberties, in the name of defense against terrorism, not just this
Anyway, for anyone else who wants to call, the number for Senator Helms
Raleigh office is 919-856-4630, and this Washington office is 202-224-6342.
Senator Edwards is at 202-224-3154, in Washington.
I wouldn't expect to get to speak to either Senator directly today ( I
wasn't able too anyway. YMMV ), but you can at least leave a message with
a staff worker, which will supposedly be given to the Senators.
