[TriLUG] Configuring disks under Linux

I tried the redhat 2.4.7-2 kernel on a machine running apache, ftp, and nfs
services with a rather high load. The machine ground to a crawl, and the
load numbers jumped to 80-100. Dropped back to 2.2.19.
