I'd have to think that far more copies of Red Hat are installed from
downloads or copies than from original CD's, and that an original CD set
likely loads many machines itself.  If you figure profit per machine, I'd
have to think they are not really making anything.

However, I've negotiated with some of their consulting team before and those
guys have taken a lesson from Oracle on pricing.  No doubt, they are making
money hand over fist every time they score a contract.  Training has always
struck me as a good source of profits as well, and they are doing lots of
that from what I hear.
