Actually, you can very easily get the new openssh running on that box,
without upgrading glibc or openssl or anything.  Just download the SRC RPM
(SRPM) for the package, and run rpm --rebuild package.src.rpm.  This will
rebuild the package for YOUR version of glibc, openssl, etc.  Once the
rebuild command has finished, the new binary RPMs will be in
/usr/src/redhat/RPMS/[arch]

By the way, the Red Hat folks are pretty careful about building
appropriate versions for the supported releases of Red Hat... for example,
always get updates for RH 6.2 from the 6.2 tree, not the 7.2 tree.  If you
want the one from the 7.2 tree on a 6.2 box, you'll almost assuredly have
to rebuild.

Source RPMs and the rebuild option is something everyone should know and
use!
