[TriLUG] Unable to run wvdial

When you compiled your kernel, did you run one of: make config, make 
menuconfig, make xconfig and select ppp support (either built-in or module) 
and module support?  If you missed one of these steps, that may be causing 
the first problem you describe.

Is not ELF support also a kernel config option?
