You can find a newer kernel for Mandrake in the Mandrake
Cooker. (in fact, you can try this file here:
ftp://jungle.metalab.unc.edu/pub/Linux/distributions/mandrake-ftp/Mandrake-=
devel/cooker/i586/Mandrake/RPMS/kernel-2.4.16.11mdk-1-1mdk.i586.rpm)
(Don't mind the wierd version/release tags. For the experimental
kernels, the name is kernel-<version.tag> and the version is just 1
so as to make it easier to install multiple kernels. It's weird,
but it works ok.)
