[TriLUG] Kernel 2.4/PCMCIA question

I know this is going to sound stupid, but I have never rebuilt a kernel
on a laptop before. I am trying to do this on my P120 Fujitsu Lifebook
as I am thinking about putting a PCMCIA Wireless card in it. Haven't
decided yet, but I have nothing better to do :)

But, here is the question. I do not want to use 2.4's PCMCIA parts. I
want to use the seperate PCMCIA tools. Debian makes this very easy as
far as compilation. However, when configuring the kernel do I leave
PCMCIA support on or off? Didn't know if the external tools needed it
to be turned off in the kernel?

Thanks,
Bill Vinson
