Ok, I'm also running RH 7.2+updates on my laptop. Heres what I did to
get Evolution installed (<1hr, including downloads):

  - downloaded *all* of the ximian binary rpm packages for
RH 7.2 from the mirror at:
      ftp://ftp.dulug.duke.edu/mirror/ximian/ximian-gnome/

  - did an rpm -Uvh on Evo and looked at the dependency list.
I wasn't too hard to find the minimum subset of all the
ximian gnome packages that need to be installed to
support Evo given the list of unsatisfied dependencies

  - did an rpm -Uvh on that subset. I got *one* conflict
related to the mozilla SSL libs that I got from a recent
rpm install from Moz's web site and I decided to do a
--force since those two packages seemed to provide
    exactly the same library files

  - done.

If I were going to do it over, I'd build from source to avoid that one
conflict. But I was in a hurry that day... ;-)

Ed
