Ok. Here's my /etc/sysconfig/desktop:

Now if I understand you correctly, I need to change it to:

" PREFERRED="blackbox" "

Correct?

Ah. Global is a whole other beastie. 

To cahnge the default Window manager globally on a RHL based system, you
modify /etc/sysconfig/desktop ands set PREFERRED to your Window Manager
of choice. To see how it all works, take a look at the default Xclients
file at /etc/X11/xinit/Xclients.
