Xwin32 is what I use and it's excellent. I use it connect to linux and
solaris, no problems.s

If you want to run a Gnome desktop from a Linux server on your
Windows desktop then you need an X-windows client for 98/NT/2K.
I have used Exceed and Xwin32, but there are many others.
