[TriLUG] Anybody got the dialup (roaming) telocity working?

Folks,

I've got telocity (aka DirecTV DSL) at home. It provides a dialup for when
I'm away. I've been trying to use pppconfig but get hung up at an unusual
place: chat reports that it never receives the CONNECT string.

What I'm wondering is if anybody's got an existing pppconfig setup that
works for telocity's remote dialup system, or just has any advice.

The laptop is old, but I know it works fine; it's a Toshiba 610CT. The
modem is an oldish Megahertz XJack V.90.
