On one of the Ultra30 machines here, running SuSE 7.3:
ultra30-1:~ # uname -a
Linux ultra30-1 2.4.14 #1 Mon Nov 12 11:25:00 GMT 2001 sparc64 unknown
ultra30-1:~ # rpm -qa | grep py
gnome-python-1.4.1-46
postgresql-python-7.1.3-17
python-gtk-1.4.1-46
python-2.1.1-39
ultra30-1:~ # rpm -qa | grep gcc
gcc-2.95.3-63
gccinfo-2.95.3-63

So no gcc3 here. I bet packages are available, but I don't want to even think
about trying to find them. In the short time that I dealt with trying to find
a SuSE RPM for xpdf without the original CDs, I felt that getting packages
from them was about 10x harder than getting packages from Red Hat. If there is
an alternative for SuSE like rpmfind.net or rawhide, please tell me where to
find it. :^|

Regards,
matt
