Definitely make sure you laptop will support it.  My Vaio only has
one SO-DIMM holder, so 2 wouldn't work for me.  Perhaps newer laptops
are better in this respect.

I've heard there used to be a "bug" (for want of a better word)
such that you needed twice the amount of physical ram for swap.
I think that's been fixed.  On my laptop I have 192MB of RAM
and 2x that of swap and it works pretty well.  (On my desktop
I have 768MB of ram and 2x that of swap and I never run out of 
memory! :-)
