Correct. Ejecting the card turns off the power.

is it completely without APM, or does it have both? In the case of my
Toshiba, it not only doesn't have APM, it doesn't have a user-accessible
BIOS to change settings in. Sooner or later I'll be able to apply the
kernel patches to get both sound and power management working *grin*
