And let me provide a 3rd. I've been using Mandrake 8.2 for over
a month now at work and I love it. The only stability issues
I've had with it were when I installed KDE 3 (which is known
to be beta quality) and even that cleared up when I switched
from the Mandrake compiled KDE3 to the Texstar version. I did
have a problem that the Makefile for grub is broken so that
it won't work with an XFS boot partition, but that was easily
fixed.

Mandrake 8.2 is by far the best version of Mandrake I've seen
so far. Are there problems with it? Probably. Will it work,
however, for the majority of users? Sure. In addition, Mandrake
has added the process of installing updates to the installation
itself, so if any problems have been fixed you'll pick them up
at install time.

Those who are willing to sacrifice essential liberties for a little
order, will lose both and deserve neither. -- Benjamin Franklin

History teaches that grave threats to liberty often come in times
of urgency, when constitutional rights seem too extravagant to
endure. -- Justice Thurgood Marshall, 1989
