[TriLUG] D-Link Dongle-less card

Hello

This might help. Someone gave me a link to the pcmcia cod on this list
when I asked about router sockets. I replied that the code was doing
ioctls but it was a good link because the code had the infamous beep source
code in it.

I looked about on my disk but I don't have the code anymore. Check the
archives and get the link.

You could either determine why its only beeping once, or modify my ioctl
example to exec a beep when the link is detected.

Let me know if you need help.

Subject: [TriLUG] D-Link Dongle-less card

I've got a D-Link 690TXD PCMCIA card, and it works just fine. However,
when inserting it, it gives the one boop of a failed card, instead of
the two beeps of a happy card.

Since the darn thing works, is there a way to get it to do a double
beep? 'cause the single boop is making me paranoid. I figure an entry
into /etc/pcmcia/config, but what to add?

BTW, it's a redhat 7.3 laptop. The vendor site doesn't appear to have
drivers or anything to download for Linux, though they state Linux as a
supported OS.

As always, thanks for any insight.
