Oh, in that case, take a look at your /etc/inittab file (assuming
this isn't a debian system).  Look for a line like:

id:5:initdefault:

On redhat or mandrake, the 5 stands for "boot into X".  If it's
a 3 instead, it boots into text.  I think the SuSE numbers are
different. My mandrake box has a BIG comment above that that
describes what the numbers are, so if this is SuSE I'd suggest
looking for something like that.
