I just installed a Belkin KVM (Omniview 4 port) ... and have been
experiencing similar problems. Here are some observations ... and if
anyone has suggestions .. i'll be happy to read them.

1. I found (through google and experience) that it does not like
optical mice hooked up with a PS/2 converter (specifically, the MS
Intellimouse Explorer).

2. If I use the following in the XF86Config file (with a regular PS/2
ball mouse):
    Protocol "IMPS/2"
The mouse goes crazy after switching back and forth between machines ...
but if I use:
    Protocol "PS/2"
The craziness goes away ... but I lose some nice functions (mouse
scrolling and middle button pasting)

I'm not sure what combination of what to use (PS/2 or IMPS/2 ... and the
ZAxisMapping ... which is said to cause problems too) ... but I would
like to have the scrolling and pasting back!

(i'm using RH 7.3 w/ KDE)
