What would cause nslookups to fail for some ips/hostnames and not others
when the information being looked up is in the same resource record files?

Example:
10.2.1.1 and 10.2.1.20 are servers in the same zone and defined in the same
lookup and reverse lookup files...

[root at cajun2 haht]# nslookup 10.2.1.1
Server: cajun2.srvr.haht.com
Address: 10.1.1.20

Name: ralfw01.hi2.haht.com
Address: 10.2.1.1

[root at cajun2 haht]# nslookup ralfw01.hi2.haht.com
Server: cajun2.srvr.haht.com
Address: 10.1.1.20

Name: ralfw01.hi2.haht.com
Address: 10.2.1.1

[root at cajun2 haht]# nslookup 10.2.1.20
Server: cajun2.srvr.haht.com
Address: 10.1.1.20

*** cajun2.srvr.haht.com can't find 10.2.1.20: Non-existent host/domain
[root at cajun2 haht]# nslookup raldns01.hi2.haht.com
Server: cajun2.srvr.haht.com
Address: 10.1.1.20

Name: ralvpn01.hi2.haht.com
Address: 10.2.1.20

Thanks,

Jaimie
