one of the things i'm focusing on with my new business is training. i
recently did a comprehensive training course for about sixteen people over
the course of two months, we started at ground zero (linux? how do you
pronounce it?) and covered terminology, OS theory, installation, command
line basics, file management, user management, daemon control, access
control, remote access, samba, mail servers, web servers, X, package
management, security, patches, and so on. it was mostly a NT/novell
crowd, so there was a lot of NT<->linux conversion questions. everyone
had their own workstation that they installed linux on from scratch and
used for the duration of the course, which gave them plenty of hands-on
time with the OS. if anyone is interested in some formal training for
them or their company, or help with preparing a training plan please let
me know.
