Howdy,

If you like to use Quanta (http://quanta.sourceforge.net) as your web
developent tool, and you use RedHat 7.3, you probably know that the shipped
version is hosed.

If you have tried Quanta on your RedHat 7.3 and thought "this software is a
PoS! it takes for ever tyo load, uses all my CPU and, when it just seemed to
be working, crashes!", you just had a bad experience with a bad bug.

Well, for all of you interested in web development / users of nifty
applications on RedHat 7.3 / KDE users that don't like S.C.R.E.A.M. nor
BlueFish to do your webpages-php-jsp-css here's the solution:

I have compiled the publicily available RawHide Source-RPM on a clean RedHat
7.3 box... and I have generated a clean'n'working RPM for Quanta.

The RPM + sources + README + md5sums-checksum-file are available here:

http://www.ibiblio.org/sinner/linux/quanta-RedHat-7.3.tar.gz

This includes:

7ef82d50b3f75843a132797987f6572f README
bb62266e694f8ffd05426f8bdf0d8e8f desktop-file-utils-0.3-3.i386.rpm
c21f20ab3131befaa873583c8aa97274 desktop-file-utils-0.3-3.src.rpm
857ed6054aa8d35095516efc72095a92 quanta-3.0-1.pr1.5.i386.rpm
9c48ce9f00b216d6a2308f7cd266edbc quanta-3.0-1.pr1.5.src.rpm
and, of course, quanta.md5sum

Hope you like it and find it useful.

Feel free to download it, mirror it, host it, send it to RedHat as a 'patch'
to their hosed Quanta for RHL 7.3 ....

Salut,
Sinner
