You know, you should join the bsd at trilug.org list...  These topics are
more appropriate there (and won't bother the folks who know nothing
about BSD and are not interested).

What is the servers primary name, and is that name associated with the
interior network interface?  Is it defined in /etc/hosts?

What happens when you su as root and type "newaliases", does it come
back right away or take forever before finally finishing up?

If it takes forever, then your host setup is incorrect and processes
that talk to the local box via the IP stack will have mucho problemo.

You can fix this by simply changing the name associated with the
interior network card so that it is the same as the host name.
