I have been to SIGGRAPH and I think the comparison with Lulu is
not at all fair. SIGGRAPH is so completely different that Lulu
that there is no way at all to compare the two. SIGGRAPH is
very focused in what it's about. Lulu is just starting out,
and it appears that it's still trying to figure out what it should
be. In addition, Lulu is extremely smaller.

The biggest problem I've had will Lulu is figuring out what
to expect. I too tried to compare it to Siggraph beforehand and it
wasn't until I went there that I realized the comparison wasn't
fair. I think if you could get all preconceptions out of people's
mind, Lulu could have a very good chance of picking up. Unfortunately,
that's impossible to do, so I would then suggest that Lulu try
to articulate better just what its identity is (as difficult
as that might be.. :-/...).

Those who are willing to sacrifice essential liberties for a little
order, will lose both and deserve neither. -- Benjamin Franklin

History teaches that grave threats to liberty often come in times
of urgency, when constitutional rights seem too extravagant to
endure. -- Justice Thurgood Marshall, 1989
