Thanks!

Seems the 'service network stop' (and start) did what I wanted.

But I can't see any difference using '-a' with ifconfig.
Seems it's the same as just using 'ifconfig'

IMHO:
ipconfig /release -> service network stop
ipconfig /renew   -> service network start
ipconfig /all     -> ifconfig -a

service and ifconfig are in /sbin, so prefix those as needed if it's not in
your path (but, as root, it should be)
