[TriLUG] Asus/3Com Nics w/o Mac Addresses

I have received a shipment of computers with asus network cards with 3com chipsets.  After loading the computers it came to my attention that the cards do not have a hard coded mac address well actually they have 00:00:00:00:00:00.  I have successfully changed the mac address in Windows but have failed to do so in Linux.  Is there a utility that would allow me to change the mac address?
