Hi folks,

The SC had previously discussed the possibility of setting up
a machine with a large hard drive to be a backup server for
our home directories.  The recent snapshot backup using rsync
was the basis we were going to use for this.  The idea being
to provide a server that can be mounted so that if you accidentally
lose some data, all you would need to do is look in the /backup
directory and there would be a snapshot of your directory
5 minutes ago, 10 minutes ago, 30 minutes ago, 1 hour ago,
a day ago, etc...

This is particularly timely for me, since my 30GB drive that
I had /home on in my personal computer just died yesterday.
And no, I didn't have any backups. :-(

Anyway, we'd love to hear any comments about this.
