I think its going too far to come down on a company for what they 
*might do*! As far as iDVD goes, everyone knows its designed to work 
with the internal Apple DVD player. You can either purchase an external 
DVD player for $500 plus whatever software you want to use, OR you can 
purchase a new Apple and get free DVD burning software to go with it. 
The only thing Apple is doing is trying to stop people from hacking 
iDVD to work with non-Apple hardware, which as far as I'm concerned is 
perfectly moral and legal.

Linux run son Apple hardware, and occasionally the topics on this list 
stray into the political arena :-)
