[TriLUG] A question about LINUX FORMAT magazine

Well, actually it's the reliability of delivery that bothers me most. I do
have an American Express Card which as you know is very safe to use
overseas---that still doesn't make me happy doing it for the simple reason
that I don't know what to expect to be charged for the subscription. Still
getting the subscription is one thing, getting the magazine with the DVD
included is another, esp. considering the state of our own mail service
which manages to mangle just about everything they touch, unless it's very
well packed. UPS is actually even worse, and I have a real horror story to
tell about how they delivered a package which had been double-boxed with
peanuts protecting the inside box (it contained something which cost almost
$2000 and was very sensitive). It arrived with a several large holes (made
by something that looked like a huge claw), and in just carrying it across
my yard half the peanuts were spilled out across my yard. Fortunately the
inside package wasn't damaged, but it was surprising to say the least. And
if you've ever tried to send a package overseas you know what awaits you
just finding someone (and it usually is JUST ONE PERSON) who knows how to
figure the rate!! ---Al Johnson.
