Unlimited dial up is way cool for backup and travel.  I was hating life
last week during the ice storm cable outage when my email couldn't find
my server and bounced all over the place.  Then, I realized how nice it
was to wean myself from email for a little while.

same here.  I'm switching (back) the earthlink cable mainly 1) to save
$3/month since I don't have any tv service from TWC and 2) to get the
unlimited dialup.  Having done earthlink cable (TWC's network) at my
last house, it always worked great.  I switched from TWC to earthlink
there - it took them 5 seconds on a phone call to push a new config to
the modem and that was it :)
