[TriLUG] login issues

When you boot up, simply hit <CTRL>+<ALT>+F1 to get to a text prompt (if 
you are booting into a gui login). You can then check your logs. Also, try 
logging in as root at the gui login. It may just be your login, not the 
machine. But the logs jon is referring to "will tell all (or most)"
