Well, I don't know offhand what would do what you want, but if you
had an account on our server it would tell you very quickly since
we don't let you authenticate and connect without SSL. :-)

Not likely.  My guess would be that there response would be like the
old Radio Shack (unofficial) "slogan": "You've got questions, we've
