Chris,

I also use a 2 port Belkin at home (don't remember which one right now,
but it's powered too) and I've never had those problems either.  I
have had problems with bad PS2 mice making the mouse go crazy, but
that didn't involve the KVM at all (it wasn't hooked up at the time).
My advice is that if you're having mouse problems in X (or anything
else), try switching to a different mouse and see if it's still there.
I've had extremely bad luck with el cheapo ps2 mice, but I've had
very good luck with Logitech and Microsoft mice.  For a while, when
I had an el cheapo mouse, I had to modify my linux kernel to do
PS2 initialization before the mouse would work right but I've
never had to do that with good PS2 mice.
