[TriLUG] mbox limit with postfix?

i got this undelivered/returned to sender mail earlier today while setting up 
a mail server for a customer:

The Postfix program cannot access mailbox /var/mail/xxxxx for user xxxxx.
    error writing message: File too large

the mailbox was about 70MB, 1000 or so messages (copied from ms outlook to the 
server via imap, part of a new mail server installation).  imap had no 
trouble reading/writing it.  this was on a pretty stock redhat 8.0 
installation with the standard postfix and UW imap rpms.  after i broke the 
file up into smaller pieces postfix was fine.  using direct delivery, not 
procmail (that will come later).

anyone got a line on this?  does postfix have some sort of limitation on how 
big a mbox it can write to?
