i'm trying to install a piece of software called quasar (accounting software,
see http://www.linuxcanada.com) which is available via rpm. i get the
following on my rh8 workstation:

[root at lister root]# rpm -ivh quasar-1.2-3.i386.rpm
Preparing... ########################################### [100%]
1:quasar ########################################### [100%]
/var/tmp/rpm-tmp.20252: line 12: cd: /setup: No such file or directory
/bin/cp: cannot stat `quasar.xpm': No such file or directory
/bin/cp: cannot stat `quasar.initd': No such file or directory
error reading information on service quasard: No such file or directory
/var/tmp/rpm-tmp.20252: line 73: /etc/rc.d/init.d/quasard: No such file or
directory

and it fails to run properly (it does finish the install process though). the
weird part is that if start gnome and use the default rpm GUI tool, it works.
can anyone offer an explanation why the GUI works on this package but CLI
doesn't?

jason
