[TriLUG] Which distro for rs/6000 AIX box?

Direct from a RedHat employee to me on 3/11/2003 when asking about RS/6000:

"We have only tested our 64 bit distribution on the p620, p640, and p660
systems. Our engineers spoke to their contacts today, and IBM confirms
that they have not tested the distribution on the 7046-B50 (604e
processor) and states that it will probably not work."

I hope that helps. I have SuSE 7.1 for PPC running on RS/6000 type 7046-B50,
but I just don't like SuSE... runs well though, MUCH better than AIX 4.3.3, not
to mention the install was easier and all the hardware worked without config.

RedHat also mentioned that if you want, they would be more than glad to create
a custom solution for you... ;) You got $$ ?? ;)

hope this helps,
David M.
