Just to add yet another plug for an IMAP package, I've been using Courier
IMAP over SSL and it is working great. The only drawback is that you have to be
using maildir format mailboxes. Once you've got that arranged you're
basically done in terms of configuration. I use exim as my MTA, but I
understand that postfix supports maildir too.
