Absolutely, and I apologize for not mentioning that.  Yes, Mandrake,
since version 7.x (.0 I think), has used the Debian menuing system.

In fact, that's one of the thing I personally like about Mandrake
so much: They don't mind incorporating the best features of other
distributions.  Debian has a very good menu system that synchronizes
the menus over multiple window managers, and since it's GPL, Mandrake
added it to their distribution.  They've also setup their rpms
similar to how Debian sets up their .debs (with all libraries in
a packages called lib<name>majorversionnumber).  

One thing they didn't integrate was apt4rpm, mainly because when they
developed their version (urpmi), apt4rpm wasn't there yet.

So, yes, the menuing system that I was raving about originally comes
from Debian. :-)
