Oooh, that might just be perfect! I'm definitely Java friendly, as the 
overall system that this
is going to be part of, is largely Java based.  And from reading this 
guys' page, it sounds
like he meant for this to be embedded as part of a bigger system... so 
this could be
exactly what I need.
