Well they'd be just like Microsoft of course. Embrace
and extend, Lock people out. Make the competition
"Just Go Away(tm)", or buy them if they can't. Spin up
FUD to scare people that might buy an alternative and
get them to buy their stuff. Come up with crazy EULA's
that they themselves don't even understand or would
never follow in a million years.

The unified desktop would have been the N.C. version
of the embrace and extend philosophy in order to lock
people out and to keep the revenue streaming in. Make
the share holders happy!!! Do whatever it takes to
make that happen. The bottom line counts people, never
sell quality if you can sell shit. Express to
customers that computers are too complex and bugs will
always remain. And keep those patches flowing, it
makes you look like you are actually trying to fix a
broken product. That in turn makes you look good and
keeps the revenue flowing.

HAHA... What a great conspiracy theory this is. No
offense to RH of course.
