[TriLUG] Linux DVD Burning

Hey Folks,

Looking for some real world experience with dvd burning. I would like to 
create a backup copy of a dvd video under linux (SuSE 8.2 if it makes a 
difference). 

What I am wondering if it is as easy as copying a CD, i.e. dd of = /dev/dvd if 
= file.iso, and then using a dvd burning tool (the only one I have found so 
far is dvdrtools {http://www.nongnu.org/dvdrtools/}) dvdrecord speed=1 -dao 
dev=0,0,1 file.iso.

Is that all there is too it? What about some of the dvd copy protection I keep 
hearing about. Can anyone comment?
