Well, I'm not sure a Ph.D. is necessary, but I would have expected 
the person to be a) a programmer, b) a C programmer, c) an OS 
programmer.  Unfortunately, none of those people will touch the
SCO NDA with a 100-foot pole (yes, I meant that extra 0) because
it could come back to haunt them later in their chosen profession.
