my mail.log shows me when postfix relays outbound to my smarthost
% sudo grep relay=smtp.earth /var/log/mail.log|tail -1
Jun 26 16:08:28 debian postfix/smtp[32492]: ED5D140165: to=<trilug at trilug.org>, relay=smtp.earthlink.net[207.217.121.212], delay=2, status=sent (250 OK id=19Vd8s-0005oW-00)
