hi all-

a followup on the computer that will not boot (even into bios) ...

i cleaned it out with air (it really was pretty clean). i do have a
soundblaster card, but it's worked fine in the 2cpu system for ~2 yrs.

i did unconnect all the power connectors to the motherboard to clean
them, and noticed the 'main' connector which is mainly clear (i'm not
hip on connector lingo; it's got 2x10 wires going into it, so 20 total)
has a 'brownish/tan' region around one of the wires (#6 actually).

do you guys think the wire is fried? does that mean i should replace
the entire power supply? it is an antec 400W guy ... i wonder what
online company takes purchase order numbers ... would probably be
quicker and cheaper than running to the local 'fix-er-up-er' place
where be 'bought' these machines

thanks for the input-
doug
